  1. This book was excruciatingly long I probably picked a bad week to read it, it being the first week of school and work, but even if I did have free time it would have taken me a while to finish It took me a week The first book was pretty good No Safety in Numbers, I gave it 4 stars and about half the length and had way interesting things happen in it Not much really happened in this book that was even notable It was so dragged. There was some romance between Ryan and Shy, and Lexi and Marco, but [...]

  2. I haven t read the first book, but I enjoyed this as a stand alone kind of It was really interesting up to a point Then, it seemed like it was put on repeat and the same thing kept happening over and over My biggest complaint are the characters There was no character development They were the same from beginning to end and they barely had a back story.I couldn t empathize with any of the characters Mike and Drew seemed like the same person and I gave up trying to remember who did what Lexi s cha [...]

  3. Interminably boring I felt like I was stuck in the mall s monotony for as long as the characters all flat, all characterless, all mere stereotypes of someone who doesn t know any teenagers and doesn t remember what it was like being one would write , and with as little mental stimulation Ugh.

  4. I wasn t excited going in to this book because the first one wasn t that good.I was only excited when the book was ending because people started shooting and or dying.Lol, I was on a high with good books.Bad crash bad crash. This book was just a mess for the most part It just seemed like a waste of time to write and definitely a waste of time to read The first one wasn t that good and could have been executed better but it wasn t as bad as this one Below I m going to pan out my thoughts as I read [...]

  5. Lord of the Taylor Full disclosure I received a free ARC of this book through Library Thing s Early Reviewer program Also, trigger warning for rape and animal abuse After a biological bomb is found strapped to the HVAC system at the Shops of Stonecliff, the mall s quickly quarantined, with thousands of hapless shoppers and employees not to mention a few police officers and research scientists trapped inside In the aftermath, a new society forms Led by Senator Ross on the authority of the US pres [...]

  6. From bad to WORSE This book was torture, excluding the two well written and exciting parts This review may contain some spoilers, though I won t go into detail The chapter division is completely different from the first book Instead of each chapter focusing on a different character, it focused on the time of day At first, I didn t mind this But about halfway through the book, things got really confusing and it was irritating to have these column breaks and then jump to a different character I th [...]

  7. No Easy Way Out by Dayna Lorentz Main Characters Lexi, Ryan, Marco, and Shay Seven days have past since a busy suburban mall was quarantined after a biological bomb was found in the air duct Everyone is in a raging panic after having no information, no showers, and little food On top of that, the unknown virus is spreading quickly killing people everyday Four teenagers, Lexi, Ryan, Marco, and Shay have their own stories that occur while trapped in the mall We see the characters evolve throughou [...]

  8. No Easy Way Out is the sequel to No Safety in Numbers, and god help us, there s a third book in the series The first one was terrible Somehow, this second one was worse I can only imagine how awful the third one will be No, scratch that I don t think I can imagine that at all I have post traumatic stress from reading this I ve been through the five stages of grief I literally had bad dreams while reading this book. And to think that, in addition to an author, this book had an editor, and a publis [...]

  9. I read the first book in this series having no idea what it was about I admit, I was expecting zombies and was amazingly surprised by how good the book was So the other day I was checking the mail and I was like, Aww man, there is a book shaped package, wonder what is inside So as we all know I immediately disregarded all the important mail and opened up my package to find a paperback of the second book form the Librarything Early Reviewer program I immediately dove right in to discover how the [...]

  10. I actually didn t finish this book and won t finish the series I think I stopped 2 or 3 chapters or so before the end of the book I just lost all interest it I don t remember what grade they were all supposed to be in, but from the way they act they seem like they are in middle school rather than high school Because what person in high school doesn t know that you can t create a virus in a mall unless this magical mall happens to have a high tech laboratory hidden somewhere Even if it did have [...]

  11. The intensity and need for survival is pumped even in this heart racing sequel to No Safety In Numbers The stakes are higher Just as it may seem that life in the mall is under control and that there are less people getting sick than before, the gangs of teenagers that had been keeping a low profile in other abandoned stores instead of checking into a Home Store decide to fight back against the dictatorship that the security has taken over to run after knocking the Senator down a peg The Senator [...]

  12. Technically I want to give this 2.5 stars There was a ton of character development in this book but most of it was aggravating then productive I like the changes made in that chapters are divided up by time periods instead of different characters viewpoints It certainly helped the book flow better and marking each day was a nice help as well But still the author could have dropped at least 200 pages off this book It s way too long and the extra length adds absolutely nothing to the series The m [...]

  13. The writing is just as bad as the first one, the format of the book is awful The first one was separated by viewpoints, this one switches to days and times, switch point of view within the sections but then switches back to overall characters Still easy to read and follow, the reason it is an issue is that it is insane to think that things would become so chaotic in 2 weeks Also the way that the different characters are written is very bland One character who is Hispanic never speaks a word of S [...]

  14. I loved book 1 No safety in numbers but for some odd reason I couldn t get into book 2 it just seemed like it rambled on and on I was rather disappointed It seemed like book 2 was play then action The storie is set in a mall where a deadly disease breaks out and soldiers quarantine the Mall over 2,000 people are stuck in the mall trying to make the best of a bad situration.

  15. No Easy Way Out by Dayna Lorentz is the second book in a thrilling trilogy following the survival of four teens quarantined in a mall with thousands of other shoppers.Read the rest of my review here wordpress post plentifulp

  16. Mrs.Smith It was an ok book, but it wasn t as good as the first one This book was so slow to me that it bored me at least 50% of the time I did like the fact that I didn t just read the 4 main kids agian They were in the book, but I got to read from other characters point of view.

  17. Do you like to shop Well at this mall it may be your last shopping spree It is in a mall in Washington D.C that a new special case of a flu virus breaks out The CDC is all over the case and everyone in the mall is quarantined That is when the riots start, people running everywhere being trampled, a lot of people are killed by the panic That is when they realize that they will not easily come out of this mall alive Read No Easy Way Out by Dayne Lorentz to find out. That is when they establish a go [...]

  18. Book Review No Easy Way OutThe book that I choose to review is No Easy Way Out, by Dayna Lorentz I choose this book because it is the sequel to No Safety In Numbers and that book was very interesting No Easy Way Out was a very thrilling book but I feel as though it was very long and drawn out unlike the first one If the author had tried to put all the detail that was in the second book inside a small book like the first one then I feel like the book could have been much better It was still a pre [...]

  19. I only liked this book a little, because not much improved from the first book in the series There was no solution to the problem, I have to wait until the next book comes out, and read the sequel In the book Shay sees Ginger again after she abandons her in the store with a bunch of flu victims Some of the book in written in Ginger s perspective Ginger gains a lot of confidence, and bravery from the experience in the mall Lexi meets Marco and they solve mysteries throughout the mall Shay finds R [...]

  20. No easy way out sequel to No safety in numbersWARNING SPOILERS I m the second book into the series I m not that pleased Some good things about it first though, this book was better then the first but I still think Shay is annoying and Marco is amazing The plot was better, better character development and the detail was better too This is a fast paced continuation of the previous book No Safety in Numbers The story takes some minor twists and turns and you find out about the characters The inter [...]

  21. 3,5I ll admit, this book was better then the first but I still think Shay is annoying and Marco is amazing The plot was better, better character development and the detail was better too I m still giving it a 3 stars because the whole book lacks common sense and this annoying relationship between Ryan and Shay I mean I was never a fan of romance, In fact I hate it, but this is the worst You meet a really pretty girl , who only thinks about herself and doesn t give Marco the thanks he deserves be [...]

  22. This book is a gradual decline into chaos and anarchy The fear and lack of communication between the people in charge inside the mall with the other residents I know if you tell everybody the truth that things would have gone down hill much sooner but only giving have truths only make their fear and anxiety worse Is there anybody on the outside working to help the people inside the mall or have they just been forgotten They ve only been trapped for 2 weeks and yet it feels like months have gone [...]

  23. In this book, things really went haywire in the mall A new system was put in place but things started falling apart pretty fast and before you know it, we have riots on our hands I was confused why the senator wanted Marco to throw parties with kegs though Why not just lure the teens out some other way And wouldn t the mall already have security cameras in place I really am interested to see where the heck Lexi is and what happens with the late doctors findings I guess it s on to the next book

  24. This book picks up the story of No Safety in Numbers It s day 7 of the quarantine, and Lexi, Marco, Ryan and Shay are just trying to survive this nightmare With a crazy flu virus spreading around, people are falling left and right When you are stuck in a deadly quarantined mall, who can you trust This was an amazing book I loved how the story was told How the actions of the characters really would make a difference in the big picture How the author described what this specific type of flu felt l [...]

  25. In No Easy Way Out Lorentz continues the saga of the people stuck in the mall after a plague is unleashed Alliances are formed but someone is not being truthful Oh yeah, the bodies are piling up.This is a fast paced continuation of the previous book No Safety in Numbers The story takes some minor twists and turns and you find out about the characters The interesting thing is how the characters see each other is not what the reader see s Love being omniscient

  26. I read the first book a couple years ago, and I really liked it Unfortunately, this book wasn t as good If it was 200 or so pages instead of almost 500, it wouldn t have been that bad Besides the unnecessary length, the characters make horrible decisions I can understand some of them because panic causes irrationality, but a lot of this book seemed like your typical high school drama, just with a different setting I ll still read the next book because I want to know what happens.

  27. The book was good It had an interesting plot and characters with each one having a unique personality This is the second book in the series but I didn t read the first book Some parts were easy to pick up like the government system but other parts like the virus were a little bit harder to keep up with overall it was pretty good.

  28. This one was a bit darker than the first They have been in the mall on lockdown for many days and people are not acting civilized The ending was a cliffhanger I went and immediately put on hold the last book in the series.

  29. I thought this was a good book it wasn t great but i still liked it i wish they was a book 2 and books in this group of books.
